Raoul van Wijk

Creative strategist, entrepreneur and maker

I turn ideas into something real.I turn ideas into something real.

I help entrepreneurs and teams take an idea further. I find out where the opportunity lies and then develop it myself into something that persuades people, or something they can try. It draws on more than twenty years of experience in digital work, marketing and PR, eleven of them as co-founder of Vertigo 6.

What you can bring me in for

You don't need a finished brief. Tell me what you're thinking about or where you're stuck, and we'll talk about what I can contribute.

Is there something in this?

You see a possibility for your business but don't yet know whether it's worth pursuing. I research the market and work out who it could appeal to. Having built companies myself, I also look at what it would take to actually make something of it. You get a well-founded proposal that helps you decide how to move forward.

Who is this for?

Not everyone has the same reason to use your product. I find out which people you can reach and what makes it interesting to them. That shapes how you tell the story and who you work with, so you can choose deliberately where your attention and budget go.

How do we make this convincing?

A good idea also has to come across well. I develop the story and design the presentation myself, so your audience understands why it's worth their attention. At Vertigo 6 I did this for pitches for EA, Disney, Logitech and UEFA, among others.

I immerse myself in the subject and look for the evidence that makes the story stronger. Then I distil it into a presentation you can give with confidence. Many of those pitches are confidential. In a conversation I can tell you more about my role and approach.

How do we get this out there?

I look for an angle that makes a brand interesting to the people you want to reach. From there I develop a PR approach or partnership that also works for the media and creators involved.

At Vertigo 6 I worked with the team on campaigns and events for games, tech and lifestyle brands. I know what it takes to get from a first idea to delivery, and I bring in the right people where their expertise is needed.

How is this going to work?

Some questions are best answered by making something. I design and build a first version that shows how an idea works. We use it to test decisions and find out what else is needed.

Because I design and build it myself, I can make changes straight away. That makes it clearer what's worth developing further and where specialist expertise is needed.

Vertigo 6

2015-2026

In 2015 I co-founded Vertigo 6 with my business partner. Together with our team, we built it into the agency that topped the FONK100 in 2021. Alongside running the business, I kept working on client projects myself, developing ideas and pitches and helping to deliver campaigns. In 2020 Vertigo 6 became part of Happy Horizon. I left in mid-2026 to spend more of my time making things myself.

At Vertigo 6 and before, I worked for brands including
EA Sports, Twitch, Disney+, SteelSeries, Logitech, Bungie and Discovery+
And with licences such as
FIFA, UEFA, F1, Disney, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings

What I'm building now

Wrong Floor gives me room to make my own ideas again. Sometimes it starts with something I miss myself, sometimes I just want to know whether something can be done. It's my studio and playground, where I develop my own products and work with others on their ideas.

About

I've been building websites since I was thirteen.

What started as a hobby became freelance work alongside my degree in Communication and Multimedia Design at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.

At Codemasters I found out how to combine that interest with games, marketing and PR. Later I co-founded Vertigo 6 with my business partner. I spent more than eleven years building the agency there, working with the team on campaigns for international brands.

Making things myself has never gone away. I like getting into a subject I don't know yet and then seeing what I can do with it. Wrong Floor gives that more room again. I enjoy working with people who see possibilities in something and want someone who can think it through with them and then build it.
